A Note from the Executive Director

I am honored to be the current steward of CASA El Dorado as the Executive Director of the progam.

CASA El Dorado is an organization that makes a difference in the lives of those who are most vulnerable in our society, children who find themselves removed from the family structure. We are passionate about the mission of advocacy for our children who have suffered abuse or neglect and as a result find themselves in the foster care system. Our CASA volunteers are court appointed advocates who donated close to 8,000 hours of their time in 2013, in service to over 350 children in our county. Their amazing contribution is supported by our dedicated staff of program managers located in the Western Slope and South Lake Tahoe.

Studies have proven that we can create better outcomes for these children in terms of the court mandated services that they receive, as well their ability to stay out of the child welfare system once they leave. Together we are doing important work representing the lives of those who need us the most and yet there is more that we can do. As I write this letter, there are children who wait on a list for our services, because we lack the funds to work with all who need us.

Please join us in this most noble of causes and help us to achieve our goal of being able to help every child in the El Dorado County who need our support. I look forward to working with each of you as we work together to achieve that vision.
